Fisher/GCMS soccer ends 2013 season in regionals

FISHER — Despite a losing season that ended in a 3-0 regional loss to Cornerstone Christine Academy Oct. 12, the Bunnies’ soccer team saw great strides in its offensive output.

FISHER — The Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley soccer team has shown improvement after a slow start, but the Bunnies know there is still work to be done.

F/GCMS offense is becoming more efficient. Head coach Levi Horsch likes how the Bunnies are scoring goals despite some limited opportunities.


Fisher/GCMS soccer goes 0-3-1 in weeklong action

FISHER — The Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley soccer team opened the season 0-3-1.

They were outscored 19-3, but improved as the week progressed.

The host Bunnies came out strong against Salt Fork/Westville Thursday, but the Storm (1-1) overpowered them 4-0.


Fisher/GCMS hopes to reach, score goals in 2013

FISHER — Goals were hard to come by in 2012, but Levi Horsch hopes the Bunnies will correct that deficiency this upcoming season.

Horsch, who is the second-year coach for the Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley soccer team, said his squad scored 22 goals in 21 matches last year, with nine coming in a 9-0 victory against Mt. Pulaski.


Rantoul/PBL golf under new leadership in Rod Peavler

RANTOUL — The Rantoul Township High School/Paxton-Buckley-Loda golf team is under new leadership this season.

Former assistant Rod Peavler took the reins from Travis Flesner.

Flesner gave up coaching the team so he could focus on his new athletic director duties at RTHS.
