Young core could provide boost for Fisher/GCMS soccer team

FISHER — Changes on on the way for the Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley soccer team this season.

The biggest change will be in goal after longtime keeper Jake Brewer graduated. The Bunnies also lost seniors Dylan Wagner, Eli Schrock and Nick Ottney. Head coach Levi Horsch said while their presence will be missed, they have left a solid blueprint behind for the current squad to follow.

Rantoul police seeing rash of vehicle burglaries

RANTOUL — The amount of burglaries inside of vehicles has seen a spike as of late, and the Rantoul Police Department is taking notice.

“We have noticed a trend,” Sgt. Justin Bouse said. “We had a rash of them in May, and we arrested a female back in the middle of that month. We had a string of 16 vehicles in one night, and she admitted to breaking into all of those.”
