Rankin man sentenced to 39 years for attempted murder

DANVILLE — A Rankin man accused of the attempted murder of his former father-in-law pleaded guilty Friday and was sentenced to 39 years in prison.

Vernon Scott Lee, 46, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder for shooting his former father-in-law, Don Frazier of rural Rankin, on Nov. 5, 2015.
