BUCKLEY
The American Legion Byron A. Hickerson Post 432 of Buckley will hold Memorial Day services on Monday, May 27, at three area cemeteries.
Library to show spring teen movie. Free to the public, the Hoopeston Public Library will show its spring teen movie at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 15. Rated PG-13, this intense action mummy film (1999) version has been digitally restored to give optimum large-screen effects.
LODA — A fireworks display will be added to the annual Loda Good Ole Days festival if enough donations from the public are received to help fund the display.
The Loda Good Ole Days Committee needs to raise between $1,500 and $2,000 to make offering fireworks a reality.

PAXTON — Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School’s 14th annual Salute to Veterans Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in the school’s gym.
The concert will be performed by PBL High School’s band, under the direction of Marine veteran Tim Hess. The concert will include patriotic music, including a performance of all the Armed Forces service songs.
MELVIN — It’s fair to say that this year’s county fair at Melvin has some exciting new offerings. The biggest is a concert on June 25 by one of country music’s rising stars, Dustin Lynch.
Lynch, 27, is a Tennessee native who is best known for chart-toppers such as his debut single, “Cowboys and Angels,” and his most recent hit, “She Cranks My Tractor.”
PAXTON — Paxton’s annual townwide garage sales are scheduled for Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8.
PAXTON — A free Rules of the Road review course is being offered by the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 18, at the Paxton Civic Center, 601 S. Fall St.
GIBSON CITY — A program for healthcare professionals entitled “It’s in Every One of Us” will be held Wednesday, April 17, at the Moyer District Library in Gibson City.
The program, sponsored by Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services, is offered at two different times: 7:30-9 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m.
ROBERTS — A Pheasants Forever Young Guns youth hunt will be held Saturday, April 13, at Green Acres Sportsman’s Club, 1458 N. 1700 East Road, Roberts.
Those interested in participating are asked to email magers@conxxus.com as soon as possible to reserve a scheduled time slot. Time slots are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Blood drive Thursday at Paxton church. An American Red Cross blood drive is scheduled for noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Father Paul F. Dinan Parish Hall, 150 N. Maple St., Paxton. The blood drive is sponsored by the St. Mary Catholic Church’s Council of Catholic Women. For an appointment, call Gigi Jarboe at 379-2255. People who last donated blood on or before Feb.
