PAXTON — A free Rules of the Road review course is being offered by the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 18, at the Paxton Civic Center, 601 S. Fall St.
Tim Cavanagh to speak to Gibson Chamber. The Gibson Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 14, at the Kruse Center in Gibson City. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a cash bar, followed by dinner at 6:30, presentation of the Citizen of the Year and Junior Citizen of the Year at 7:15 and entertainment beginning at 7:45.

Tea Party hosting rally Saturday
PAXTON — The Ford County Tea Party will host an informational rally at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Pells Park, 700 E. Pells St., Paxton.
PAXTON — Richard Kingery fondly remembers the first time he got the chance to fly a small airplane. It was a flying lesson he had in 1968, the same year that the Federal Aviation Administration approved a new airport facility west of Paxton.
“I was the first student to fly out of the Paxton airport,” Kingery recalled, proudly.
