Mayor tells of projects city is pursuing to generate economic growth

PAXTON — In addition to a 41-room motel and a Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken restaurant  proposed to be built on the city’s west side, Mayor Bill Ingold touched on a number of other ongoing economic-development projects during a program he gave to the Paxton Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.


Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken might come to Paxton

PAXTON — Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken could soon be opening a restaurant in Paxton.

Paxton resident Steve Meuser said Friday he has finalized a franchise agreement with the company to allow him to open a Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken restaurant on Illinois 9 just west of the Interstate 57 interchange.

PAXTON — Massage therapist and Massage Elements owner Emily Sandholt takes the meaning of “family business” to another level.

“My parents have owned a massage therapy studio for 25 years. My six sisters are licsensed massage therapists,” said Sandholdt, who has opened Massage Elements in the State Street Mall in Paxton. “In many ways, I feel like this is what I was born to do.”
