Gibson City aldermen approve rules for food trucks


GIBSON CITY — Gibson City Council members unanimously approved an ordinance regulating mobile food trucks Monday night.

Bluefish Cafe going mobile


ELLIOTT — Regular diners might have noticed that the Bluefish Cafe in Elliott has been closed much of the last couple weeks. They might have also heard rumors that the longtime Elliott gathering spot is going out of business.

Not so, according to owner Angie Rouley.

New diner opens on Paxton's west side

PAXTON — A new diner opened recently in a vacant restaurant building by Interstate 57 on Paxton’s west side.

Pueblo Lindo owners to open diner in former Pizza Hut building

PAXTON — The owners of Pueblo Lindo announced recently that they plan to open a diner in the former Pizza Hut building at 506 John St. in Paxton.

The building was most recently home to Three Boys Diner, which closed suddenly earlier this year after being in operation since last summer.

CORRECTION: Country Gardens is not for sale

The Country Gardens Restaurant by Interstate 57 on Paxton’s west side is not for sale, its owner said.

Harvest Ale House fills void in downtown Paxton

PAXTON — On Tuesday afternoon, the time finally arrived that Ben Grice had been looking forward to for so long.

Following a ribbon-cutting ceremony sponsored by the Paxton Area Chamber of Commerce, the 39-year-old Paxton restaurateur officially opened the Harvest Ale House at 4 p.m. in the long-vacant building at 102 S. Market St., once the home of The 102 Lounge.

Bayern Stube owners selling, not closing

GIBSON CITY — When folks talk about Gibson City, one of the first things that always comes up is the Bayern Stube, the German restaurant that’s been a fixture in the community of about 3,400 since its opening in 1991.

“It’s our page view,” said Tim Shafer, president of the Gibson Area Chamber of Commerce.
