PAXTON — The Paxton Police Department released the following list of recent activity:

Elderly man gets 140 years in prison for sexual exploitation of three children

URBANA — A 78-year-old man from northern Ford County has been ordered to serve consecutive sentences that total 140 years in prison for the sexual exploitation of three children.

PAXTON — The Paxton Police Department released the following list of recent activity:

➜ Monica S. Miller, 30, of Paxton, was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license during a traffic stop at 9:38 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the intersection of Patton Street and Railroad Avenue. The 2006 Chevrolet Impala that Miller was driving was seized by police under city ordinance.

GIBSON CITY — The Gibson City Police Department released the following list of persons arrested or ticketed recently:

➜ Adam L. Durham, 24, of 615 E. 5th St., Gibson City, for aggravated assault and unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon on Wednesday, Nov. 28.

Ford County Circuit Court cases (Dec. 7, 2018)

Following is a list of cases filed recently in Ford County Circuit Court:

• Amanda R. Esparza, 37, of Piper City, for concealing or aiding a fugitive.
• Christy L. Price, 48, of Champaign, for defrauding drug and alcohol screening tests.
• Jordan M. Davis-Ervin, 27, of Georgetown, for burglary.
• Ethan C. Ervin, 26, of Rossville, for burglary.

Fellheimer re-elected chief judge of 11th Judicial Circuit

PONTIAC — Mark A. Fellheimer has been re-elected as chief judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit, which comprises Ford, McLean, Livingston, Woodford and Logan counties. 

Fellheimer’s new term begins Jan. 1. He was first elected as chief judge effective July 1, 2018, to serve the remainder of former Chief Judge Kevin Fitzgerald’s term upon his retirement.

Maxey named president-elect of statewide association

PAXTON — Ellen Maxey, director and chief managing officer of the Ford County probation department, is the new president-elect of the Illinois Probation and Court Services Association. 

Maxey most recently held the position of secretary for the IPCSA’s executive board and was elected as president-elect from a field of nine candidates.

Ford County sheriff's deputies issue 25 traffic tickets in November

PAXTON — The Ford County Sheriff’s Office issued 25 traffic citations in November, including 15 for speeding.

There were also two tickets each issued for improper traffic lane usage, driving with no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and expired registration.

Paxton man gets 10 years in prison for child pornography

URBANA — A Paxton man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for receiving and possessing child pornography.

On Monday, Chief U.S. District Judge James E. Shadid imposed the sentence upon Kenneth W. Slater, 32, of the 1000 block of South Washington Street.

In addition, Slater was ordered to pay restitution to two victims for a total amount of $6,000.
