PAXTON – Jay Eshleman and Johnny Walder were named to the all-Sangamon Valley Conference First Team.
Marty Mennenga and Axl Denault were named to the second team while Drew Schrodt was given an honorable mention.

BUCKLEY – Normally a closer, Brock Niebuhr had to step in and take the starting pitcher role for the opening game of the Buckley Dutchmasters’ season.
He earned the win, as he pitched eight inning in the Dutchmasters’ 7-1 in the first game of the Sunday doubleheader.
HEYWORTH – Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley finished second in Thursday’s Heyworth Sectional with a score of 77.
In the process, it qualified for the IHSA Class 1A state meet – which starts this Thursday with preliminaries – in six events.
CHARLESTON – A year after finishing second in the Class 1A state meet, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley went into Thursday’s preliminaries with a youth movement.
