Ford-Iroquois Indians Junior Legion baseball wins 11-0 over Champaign in first round of district tournament

RANTOUL -- The Ford-Iroquois Indians Junior Legion baseball team faced more than Champaign in its American Legion District Tournament game on Saturday.
After a couple of rain delays, a game that started at about 2:50 p.m. resumed at 4:15 p.m.

GCMS football at Clifton Central 7-on-7

The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School football team participated in Clifton Central’s  second annual 7-on-7 tournament on Sautrday, which also includes a Lineman Challenge.

Them Soccerclub FCYSC evening camp

Them Soccerclub hosted Ford County Youth Soccer Club evening camp sessions from July 16-19 for ages 10-and-under, 14-and-under and 18-and-under in Gibson City. A daytime camp was hosted by Them Soccerclub in June. The camp in Gibson City raised over $1,500 for the Fisher/Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School program.

Ford-Iroquois Indians baseball defeats Danville Gold 14-2

PAXTON -- The Ford-Iroquois Indians Junior Legion baseball team won 14-2 Tuesday, July 17, over Danville Gold.
The Indians took a 3-0 lead in the third inning.
Ben Jarboe singled to right field with two outs before Caleb Atwood doubled to center field to send him home.

PBL coaching changes (July 12, 2018)

PAXTON -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda school board affirmed the resignation of Sam Schmale as the junior high school's eighth-grade boys basketball coach and junior high boys' track and field coach.
Schmale said he has accepted an offer to join the administrative team in another district.
