GCMS Middle School baseball ends 12-win season with loss to Bloomington Corpus Christi in IESA Class 2A regional championship game

GIBSON CITY -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Middle School baseball team finished its 2017 season with a 12-5 record and a loss in the IESA regional championship round.
 
"If you had told me at the beginning we're going to be 12-5 and in the regional championship, we'll take it," GCMS head coach Dustin White said.

PBL JH baseball loses to Champaign Jefferson in IESA Class 3A regional semifinals

MAHOMET -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda Junior High School baseball team's 2017 season came to an end Saturday with an 11-1 loss Saturday to Champaign Jefferson in the IESA Class 3A Mahomet Regional semifinals.
 
After falling behind 6-0, PBL scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning.

GCMS Middle School baseball advances to IESA Class 2A regional championship game with 7-3 win over El Paso-Gridley

GIBSON CITY — The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Middle School baseball team won 7-3 over El Paso-Gridley in the semifinals of the IESA Class 2A Gibson City Regional on Saturday.

The second-seeded Falcons will face top-seeded Bloomington Corpus Christi, which won 15-0 over Normal Metcalf, at 4:15 p.m. Monday.

PBL JH baseball sweeps doubleheader over Rantoul Eater

PAXTON -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda Junior High School baseball team outscored Rantoul Eater 27-2 on Saturday en route to a doubleheader sweep.
 
Kayden Snelling pitched a two-inning perfect game for the Panthers in a 15-0 victory in game two, striking out six batters.

GCMS MS baseball defeats PBL JH 4-3 in extra innings

PAXTON -- The Ford County rivalry came down to extra innings in Thursday's game between Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Middle School and Paxton-Buckley-Loda Junior High School.
 
In the top of the ninth inning, GCMS's Wyatt Schlickman hit a leadoff home run past the left-field fence to lead the Falcons to a 4-3 victory.
