PBL baseball loses 4-2 to Prairie Central in season opener

PAXTON -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda baseball team lost 4-2 to Prairie Central in its season opener on Tuesday, March 19.
 
The Panthers led 2-0 after four innings before Prairie Central tallied four runs in the top of the fifth inning.

PAXTON -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda junior varsity baseball team lost 11-9 to Tolono Unity on Monday.
 
At the plate, Jarred Gronsky hit 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored.

GCMS baseball pitchers throw no-hitter in 10-0 win over Hoopeston Area

HOOPESTON -- Three Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley baseball pitchers combined to toss a no-hitter in a 10-0 win Monday over Hoopeston Area.
 
Braden Roesch struck out seven batters and walked four through 3 1/3 innings en route to picking up the win.

Andrew Zenner -- The former Paxton-Buckley-Loda baseball standout allowed no runs on two hits and one walk through two innings for John A. Logan College in an 8-2 win Thursday over Lincoln Trail. He pitched for one-third of an inning in an 18-12 victory on Monday, March 11, allowing no runs on no hits and no walks.

GCMS baseball brings experienced roster to 2019 season

GIBSON CITY -- The first week of games for the 2019 Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley baseball team were canceled, as the Falcons spent Friday's practice in the high school gymnasium.

PAXTON -- According to its head coach, Brock Niebuhr, expectations have not changed for the Paxton-Buckley-Loda baseball team.
 
The Panthers enter the 2019 season as four-time defending Sangamon Valley Conference champions.
 
"Our expectations are the same year-in and year-out," Niebuhr said. "We expect to put a quality product on the field.
