GIBSON CITY -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley junior varsity boys basketball team won 50-46 Friday over Deer Creek-Mackinaw.
 
In the third quarter, GCMS outscored Dee-Mack 19-13 to overcome a 21-18 halftime deficit as Braden Roesch scored 13 points during the quarter while Tristin Roesch and Nathan Kallal each had three points.

PBL JH boys basketball teams lose to St. Joseph

PAXTON -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda eighth-grade boys basketball team lost 42-31 to St. Joseph on Thursday.
 
The Panthers tied St. Joseph at 13-13 at the end of the first quarter as Jeremiah Ager and Kendall Swanson each had five points and Kayden Snelling added a 3-pointer.

PBL boys basketball wins 65-28 over Iroquois West

PAXTON -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School boys basketball team won 65-28 Tuesday, Jan. 15, over Iroquois West.
 
With the win, the Panthers improved to a record of 11-7 while remaining undefeated in the Sangamon Valley Conference at 4-0. They will face St. Thomas More in Champaign next Tuesday.

That was the case for Tuesday boys basketball game between Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley and Cissna Park, as the Cissna Park High School gym was filled to capacity by the third quarter of the preceding junior varsity game.
