PBL High School cross country teams to enter 2018 season with high expectations

PAXTON -- Last November, the Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School boys cross country team qualified a full team for a IHSA Class 1A state meet appearance for the first time since 2007.

PAXTON -- The resignation of Erik Ronney as high school wrestling coach, as well as driver's education and health teacher, was affirmed by the Paxton-Buckley-Loda's school board at Wednesday's meeting.

PAXTON -- Kody Harrison, a Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School senior, signed his letter of intent Wednesday to continue his cross country and track and field careers at Grinnell College.
"I'm relieved that I finally picked a good college that I'm excited to attend," Harrison said.

Jordan Anderson -- The former Paxton-Buckley-Loda football standout had seven tackles, including 1 1/2 for loss of yards, for Knox College in a 30-0 win Saturday over Lawrence.
Trent Wooten -- The 2014 PBL graduate played for Knox College's football team.
Jake Stevenson -- The 2016 PBL graduate started at center for a McKendree University

Area college sports catchup (Nov. 5, 2017)

Ross Royal -- The former Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley football standout recorded six tackles, including one for a loss of yards, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble for Eureka College in a 63-26 win Saturday over Martin Luther.
