PAXTON — For the second year in a row, the Ford County Board welcomed and recognized the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School football team for winning a state championship.

Rosten, Daniels tie for first place among so-called experts

PAXTON -- Andrew Rosten of the Ford County Record and Matt Daniels of The News-Gazette tied for first place among the so-called experts' predictions for football season.
Rosten and Daniels each had a record of 114-24.

CHAMPAIGN -- For the second straight year, the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley and Maroa-Forsyth football teams will face each other in the IHSA Class 2A state championship game.
Last year, GCMS defeated Maroa-Forsyth won 38-32 as Bryce Barnes caught a 23-yard touchdown pass with 1:08 left in the game.
