GCMS girls basketball defeats Blue Ridge 53-8

FARMER CITY -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley girls basketball team won 53-8 Thursday over Blue Ridge.
 
The Falcons (8-3) outscored Blue Ridge 19-2 in the first quarter as Megan Moody scored eight points, Emily Clinton had five points, Makenzi Bielfeldt had four points and Claire Retherford had two points.

LeROY — The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley girls basketball team won 45-30 Thursday over LeRoy.

The Falcons outscored LeRoy 14-4 as Claire Retherford scored 12 points while Makenzi Bielfeldt added two points.


Tri-Point eighth-grade girls basketball loses 44-18 to Gifford in IESA Class 1A sectional

ARMSTRONG -- The Tri-Point eighth-grade girls basketball team lost 44-18 to Gifford in the IESA Class 1A Armstrong Sectional game on Wednesday.
 
The Raiders ended their season with a record of 14-8.
 
Meanwhile, Gifford (21-2) will face Washington St. Patrick (25-1) in the state tournament at 1 p.m.
