PAXTON -- Lynn Rubarts' hire as an assistant girls basketball coach at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School was approved at Wednesday's school board meeting.
Zak Harris was terminated from his position as assistant football coach at the high school.

NORMAL -- In the final minute of Sunday's Special Olympics Illinois Senior 14 state basketball tournament championship game, the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers' Jakob Robison sought an opportunity to give one of his teammates a chance at a basket.

GIBSON CITY -- The Sangamon Valley Conference/Heart of Illinois Conference All-Star Game event, hosted by WGCY Radio in Gibson City, will take place Saturday, March 18, at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School.

GIBSON CITY -- Makenzi Bielfeldt and Megan Moody of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School girls basketball team were each selected as honorable mentions for the all-Heart of Illinois Conference team.
Bielfeldt was also selected as an honorable mention for the HOIC's all-defensive team.
