NORMAL -- In the final minute of Sunday's Special Olympics Illinois Senior 14 state basketball tournament championship game, the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers' Jakob Robison sought an opportunity to give one of his teammates a chance at a basket.
Robison handed the ball off to Kelly Griffin in the lane.

Kellyn Maynard -- The former Paxton-Buckley-Loda girls basketball standout is part of an Illinois Central College team that reached NJCAA Division II Region 24 Tournament championship round before losing 81-54 to Parkland College on Sunday.
GIBSON CITY -- The Sangamon Valley Conference/Heart of Illinois Conference All-Star Game event, hosted by WGCY Radio in Gibson City, will take place Saturday, March 18, at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School.
The girls basketball contest will tip off at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dunk contest and the boys basketball game.
GIBSON CITY -- Makenzi Bielfeldt and Megan Moody of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School girls basketball team were each selected as honorable mentions for the all-Heart of Illinois Conference team.
Bielfeldt was also selected as an honorable mention for the HOIC's all-defensive team.
Kellyn Maynard -- The former Paxton-Buckley-Loda girls basketball standout had four points for Illinois Central College in a 64-41 win over South Suburban College on Saturday, Feb. 25. The Cougars will play in the Region 24 tournament, hosted by Parkland College in Champaign, next weekend.
