Meents competes in Monster Jam event in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS -- With the overall win in a Monster Jam show held Feb. 9-10 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Paxton resident Tom Meents catapulted Max-D Fire into the top spot in the overall season points standings.
 
Meents finished first in event points on Sunday, Feb. 10, with 40 points while Grave Digger finished second with 36 points.

PBL High School to host Delta Dash 5K on March 16

PAXTON -- Students from Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School who are attending the Mississippi Delta service trip over spring break are hosting the Delta Dash 5K at 9 a.m.

Kody Harrison -- He placed third in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:49 at the Grinnell Indoor Invite on Saturday, Jan. 26.

PBL cheerleading squad finishes 11th in IHSA sectional competition

LEMONT -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School competitive cheerleading squad ended its competitive season with an 11th-place finish in the small-team bracket of Saturday's IHSA Lemont Sectional.
 
The Panthers had a score of 65.8.

Lane Timmons -- The former Gibson City resident has a .933 save percentage, with 14 saves, through six games played for the  Western States Hockey League's El Paso Rhinos, which has the lead in the Junior A Mid-Western Division with a record of 20-6-2 through 30 games played.

PBL cheerleading squad qualifies for ICCA state meet

PONTIAC -- With a second-place finish at a competition in Pontiac on Saturday, the Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School cheerleading squad qualified for the Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association's state meet, which will take place on Jan. 5 in Springfield.


IHSA Legislative Commission approves 11 proposals for all-school vote

BLOOMINGTON -- The Illinois High School Association's Legislative Commission voted Wednesday to refer 11 proposals to amend the IHSA Constitution and by-laws to a vote of the general membership.

Blue Ballbarians win Paxton Park District kickball title

PAXTON -- The Paxton Park District Co-Ed Kickball League wrapped up its season on Thursday.  
 
In the semifinal matches, Blue Ballbarians defeated Recess All Stars 4-1, while Pitch Please upset P.E. All Stars 12-5.
