GCMS volleyball wins in two sets over Heyworth

HEYWORTH -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School volleyball team won 25-19, 25-18 over Heyworth on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
 
Jessica Freehill had nine kills and 14 digs for the Falcons (9-13, 3-8 Heart of Illinois Conference) while Emily Clinton, Freehill and Lucy Keigher each had one ace.

PBL volleyball defeats Donovan in first round of SVC/RVC Conference Tournament

KANKAKEE -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda volleyball team won 25-8, 25-5 over Donovan in the first round of the Sangamon Valley/River Valley Conference Tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
 
Lexi Johnson led the Panthers (19-8) in kills with seven while Addison Oyer and Mackenzie Bruns each had five kills.

PBL volleyball wins in two sets over Rantoul

RANTOUL -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda volleyball team won in two sets Monday over Rantoul despite 18 digs from Alexia Sherrick, four kills from Tanaya Young and three kills from Mye'Joi Williams for the Eagles.
 
With the win, the Panthers improved to 18-8.

GCMS volleyball loses in three sets to Watseka

WATSEKA -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley volleyball team lost 15-25, 25-21, 25-19 Monday to Watseka.
 
Jessica Freehill had 10 kills for the Falcons (9-12) while Emily Clinton had four aces, 16 digs and two blocks, Mady Schutte had 21 assists and Payton Allen and Lindsey Heinz each had two blocks.

PAXTON -- With IHSA Class 2A regionals less than three weeks away, Paxton-Buckley-Loda hosted a tournament that head coach Lindsay Stalowy hopes will have her team battle-tested come postseason time.
 
The PBL Volleyball Classic featured two new teams -- Monticello and Cissna Park -- that the host Panthers faced on Saturday.

GIBSON CITY -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley volleyball team won 25-15, 25-17 over LeRoy on Thursday.
 
Jessica Freehill led the Falcons (5-12, 2-8 Heart of Illinois Conference) with eight kills and seven aces while Lindsey Heinz had three blocks, Madi Eberle had nine digs and Mady Schutte had 17 assists.

Host Panthers start PBL Volleyball Classic with wins over GCMS, Milford

PAXTON -- It took five sets, three of which were decided by five points or less, but Paxton-Buckley-Loda started play in the PBL Volleyball Classic with two wins on Saturday.
 
The Panthers defeated Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley 25-20, 25-13, before claiming a three-set victory -- via 16-25, 25-21, 15-12 score -- over Milford.
