GIBSON CITY -- The week prior to its game on Monday against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, the Fieldcrest High School girls basketball team received one vote for the Associated Press' Class 2A poll.
Fieldcrest left Gibson City with a 50-30 loss.
“We just need to keep competing against anybody," GCMS head coach Keri Dornbusch said.

Rantoul/PBL wrestlers McCusker, Roseman win championship medals in Pontiac

PONTIAC -- Peter McCusker and Nolan Roseman of the Rantoul/Paxton-Buckley-Loda wrestling team won the championship of the 145-pound and 152-pound brackets, respectively, of Saturday's Pontiac "The Munch" Invitational.
McCusker won via 13-1 technical fall in a time of 3:41 over Normal Community High School's Joshua Degladillo in the championship match.

GCMS/Fisher wrestling places third in Reaper Classic

PLANO -- The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley/Fisher wrestling team finished third in the Reaper Classic tournament on Saturday.
The Falcons scored a 138 while Erie-Prophetstown (205 1/2) and Sandwich (165) placed first and second, respectively.
Payton Kean earned a first-place medal in the 195-pound bracket, winning via 8-7 decision over Peotone
