GILMAN -- After graduation, Madison Grohler plans to attend Union University to major in communications.
 
She was one of five seniors on a Paxton-Buckley-Loda girls basketball team that ended its season in the IHSA Class 2A regional round last week.

CHAMPAIGN -- Cale Horsch of the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley/Fisher High School wrestling team won via technical fall in the first round of the 106-pound bracket at the IHSA Class 1A state individual meet on Thursday.
 
Horsch (39-3) defeated Alex Armira (25-19) of Chicago Hope Academy via 17-0 score in a time of 3:20.

PBL seventh-grade volleyball loses in two sets to St. Joseph

PAXTON -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda seventh-grade volleyball team lost 25-12, 25-15 Tuesday, Feb. 13, to St. Joseph.
 
Losa Suaava led PBL (7-6) in kills with two while Averi Garrett had a team-high two aces along with five service points and Gracelyn Greenburg had nine service points.

TUSCOLA -- The Paxton-Buckley-Loda boys basketball team won 44-41 Tuesday, Feb. 13, over Tuscola. 
 
Mason Ecker scored seven points in the first quarter while Austin Gooden added four points as PBL ended the quarter leading 11-9.

Chicago Fire soccer clinics to be held in Paxton

PAXTON -- Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community, in partnership with Them Soccerclub, will offer free open trainer clinics in Paxton.
 
The clinics will be held at 601 S. Fall Street in Paxton on March 24.
 
The ages 3-7 clinic will be held from 9-10 a.m., followed by the ages 8-14 clinic (10-11 a.m.) and ages 15-18 clinic (11 a.m.-noon).
