Accounting Clerk

News-Gazette Media in Champaign, IL is an

award-winning local information media business looking for a full-time accounting associate

responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical servics for the Finance Department.

Essential Job Functions

• Detailed accounts payable transactions such as

disbursement, vouchers, and check runs.

• Prepares deposits and balances to multiple

sub-ledger systems and prepares cash journal

and ledger entries.

• Set-up and maintain vendor and customer

accounts in the accounting system, including

correct 1099 classification.

• Create, post and balance data batches to

corresponding business system.

• Print, review and mail customer billing


• Perform related duties as assigned.

Experience Preferred

• Knowledge and skills through completion of

bookkeeping and office procedures course

work combined with related financial and

administrative experience

• Knowledge of office administration and

bookkeeping procedures, knowledge of account

payable/receivables and maintaining general


• Experience with computerized accounting,

spreadsheets and word processing programs,

and e-mail at a highly proficient level.

• Worked with high level, confidential financial

and employee files

Minimum Educational Requirements

Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
