Authorities continue to probe Elliott man's death

ELLIOTT — Authorities continue to investigate the death of an Elliott man who was found dead inside his home following a fire there last month.

Ford County Sheriff Mark Doran was tight-lipped about the ongoing investigation Monday, declining to say whether foul play was suspected.

Cause of death remains undetermined for Elliott man

URBANA — Following an autopsy Wednesday morning, the cause of death remained undetermined for an Elliott man who was found dead following a fire in his home.

Ford County Coroner Rick Flessner said that Dr. Shiping Bao, after conducting the autopsy at the Champaign County morgue, listed no preliminary opinion in his autopsy report for the cause of 34-year-old Jeremy C. Turner’s death.

Elliott man perishes in house fire

ELLIOTT — An Elliott man was found dead in his home after firefighters from four agencies responded to a fire there Tuesday morning.

Elliott Fire Chief Bill Smith said his agency responded to a report of a fire at a home at 203 N. Maple St. around 10:20 a.m.

Upon arrival, Smith said, there were flames and smoke coming from the home.
