While there will be only two contested races for elected positions in Ford County in next March’s primary election, the ballot in neighboring Iroquois County will feature four.

— Matthew C. Arends, 22, of 1041 E. Bogardus St., Paxton, was arrested for criminal damage to property for allegedly kicking a door, causing damage to it, during a verbal argument with his father at their residence at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21.

— The theft of various power tools and hand tools from a truck owned by Toby Construction, based in Herscher, was reported on Oct. 10 at 330 Meuser Drive. The crime is believed to have occurred between Oct. 9 and Oct. 10.


Flu clinics scheduled throughout Iroquois County

WATSEKA — The Iroquois County Public Health Department has scheduled a series of flu vaccination clinics throughout the county.

The clinics run from Sept. 24 through Oct. 29 at sites in Loda, Cissna Park, Onarga, Milford, Crescent City, Watseka, Iroquois, Sheldon, Beaverville, Clifton and Chebanse.


Iroquois County Camp 911 to visit St. John's Lutheran School in Buckley

BUCKLEY — September marks the 10th annual Camp 911 for second- and third-grade students in Iroquois County. Over the past nine years, the camp has taught school children about safety techniques and how to get through emergency situations.
