GIBSON CITY — The Gibson City Police Department released the following list of persons arrested or ticketed recently:

— Dedrick B. Overby, 37, of Ivesdale, for driving with a suspended license on April 11.

— Gary S. Lonch, 20, of Plainfield, for following too closely on April 11.


Some — but not all — incumbents prevail on Election Night in Ford, Iroquois counties

Some incumbents, but not all, prevailed in their bid for re-election Tuesday in contested races in Ford and southern Iroquois counties.

In a four-way race for three available seats on the Paxton-Buckley-Loda school board, incumbents Dave Dowling and Doug Wolken, both of Paxton, were victorious with unofficial vote totals of 600 and 598, respectively.


Wind turbine setback change fails to gain zoning board's recommendation

WATSEKA — A proposal to strengthen the setback requirements for wind turbines built in Iroquois County failed to receive enough votes to gain a recommendation from the Iroquois County Zoning Board of Appeals last week.


Driver of semi that rolled over on I-57 treated for minor injuries

DANFORTH — The driver of a semi-trailer that crashed and rolled over on Interstate 57 in Iroquois County early Thursday morning was treated for minor injuries at a Kankakee hospital, police said.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at 4:28 a.m. Thursday in the northbound lanes of I-57 at milepost 288, near Danforth, according to a news release from District 21 Illinois State Police.

— Spencer Andrews, 44, of Danforth, was arrested by Gilman police on April 1 for battery.


Coroner identifies Danforth couple who died in murder-suicide

DANFORTH — Iroquois County’s coroner has released the names of the married couple who were found dead in their Danforth home in an apparent murder-suicide.

Coroner Bill Cheatum identified the couple as Christopher E. Johnson, 35, and Hillary T. Johnson, 34.


Iroquois zoning board to consider changing setbacks for wind turbines

WATSEKA — The Iroquois County Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on March 31 to consider amending the county’s wind farm ordinance.
