Loda Lions Club to sponsor fundraiser featuring The Back Paiges

LODA — The Loda Lions Club is sponsoring a fundraiser on Saturday, Sept.29, from 6 p.m. to midnight, at the Loda firehouse to raise funds to rebuild the club’s fire-damaged building.

In the summer of 2010, the fire at the club’s meeting house displaced the club. After settling with its insurance company, the Lions reconstructed the front meeting room, but the club has not yet been able to re-occupy the dwelling because of the presence of no restrooms or heating or air conditioning, which were located in the rear section of the building.

All funds earned in the upcoming fundraiser will be used toward reconstruction of the back half of the building.

The fundraiser will feature The Back Paiges band. For sale will be beer, brats, hotdogs, chips, popcorn,  soda and water. There will be a $3 cover charge for the  band, which will be performing from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The Lions will also sell tickets to win two $100 gift cards for the IGA grocery store in Paxton.

Donations are appreciated ahead of the event and can be sent to the Loda Lions Fire Fund, c/o the Federated Bank in Loda.
