PAXTON — The Paxton Park District’s annual Community Sale is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Coady Park on South Fall Street.
The sale will feature auctions running simultaneously, with items up for bid that include tools, furniture, farm equipment, antiques, lawn and garden products, primatives, vehicles and appliances.
A flea market will also be set up, featuring a wide variety of booths.
Items will be accepted for consignment starting Friday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and through Saturday, April 6, from 6 to 9 a.m. Persons wanting to consign items are to report to the check-in area in the Paxton Civic Center, located within the park. Sellers will be assigned a number and tags. They are to tag all of their items.
A $1 fee will be charged for each buyer’s number. Registration of buyers will begin at 8 a.m. at the Civic Center. Buyers must pay for their items on sale day.
A 15 percent commission will be charged per tagged item. Items that do not bring in $3 are considered donated, so sellers are encouraged to group their items together to bring at least that amount. The seller is responsible for a “buy-back”; there will be a $5 fee for each buy-back.
All vehicles for sale must have a clear title that will be left at the check-in area before the sale begins. A $25 nonrefundable processing fee will be charged at check-in time, in addition to the 15 percent commission fee, for all licensed vehicles being sold.
Not accepted for the sale are dogs, cats, firearms, hazardous materials, LP tanks, televisions, computers, computer monitors, used mattresses, and tires not mounted on usable rims.
