Following is the winning recipe in a burger contest sponsored by Central Lean in downtown Paxton recently. The recipe was submitted by 11-year-old Andrew Swanson of Paxton.
Central Lean’s Sweet ‘N Spicy Hamburger
Mix:
1/2 lb ground hamburger
Dice: 2 thin slices jalapeno cheddar cheese and 1 thin slice buffalo wing cheddar cheese. Approx 1/2 c.
6 cajun pickles diced (almost 1/2 cup)
1/2 tsp lemon pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
Pat 1/4 lb patties and grill. Top with jalapeno cheddar cheese before removing from grill to soften cheese.
Spread:
Mix together ...
2 tbsp softened unsalted sweet cream butter
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
2 tsp Sasse’s apiary honey
Smear spread onto top and bottom buns and toast on grill. Top with burger and serve.
