CRESCENT CITY — Tyler Robinson, a vocalist from Thawville, will be among two acts representing Iroquois County at the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs State Talent Contest, scheduled for Jan. 19, 2013, at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.
Robinson advanced to compete in the state contest after winning first place in the Senior Division of the 41st annual Iroquois County Fair Talent Show last week.
The talent show featured 68 youth from Iroquois County competing in two divisions. Representing Iroquois County in the Junior Division at the state talent show will be Company B, a tap-dance group that took first place in the Junior Division in the local contest.
Company B included Ariana Ademi, Grace Armstrong, Claire Bossong, Hannah Fink, Blair Hankey, Tiffany Hasbargen, Kelton Musgraves, Isaac Patrick and Sarah Thomas.
The Rockin Reds captured the second place honors in the Junior Division. Members of the troupe consisted of Hannah Eheart, Hunter Fox, Autumn Haskins, Jena Horchem, Shelby Naese, Alison Navas and McCall Schunke
Kassidy Berry, a vocalist from Watseka, won third place in the Junior Division.
The Shack Shakers, a tap dance group, captured the Senior Division second-place honors. The tap dancers included Bailee Arseneau, Chelsie Davenport, Alexis Dreyer, Jordan Edwards, Sydni Farris, McKensie Hagen, Laci Kissack, Lindsey Lambert and Amanda Lowe.
The B-Town Ladies, a tap dance team, obtained the Senior Division third place. The foursome included Abby Fischer, Ellaine Hibbert, Megan Kemarly, and Katie McTaggart.
Winners received ribbons and cash donations from the Iroquois County Fair Association.
