'Once Upon a Mattress' to be performed this weekend at Paxton theater

PAXTON — The Tri-County Players will present one more weekend of “Once Upon a Mattress,” with music by Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer and book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Marshall Barer.  

Performances at the Market Street Theatre in Paxton will be held June 27-29. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7 p.m., and the Sunday show is at 2 p.m. 

With a large cast of area teens and young adults, this is a high-energy show the whole family can enjoy. 

Music for the production is provided by a full band which includes: Chuck Belanger, piano; Lindsey Wurl, clarinet; Jane Mehlan, flute; Ryder Diesburg, drums; Austin Coe, trombone; Zeph Webster, bass guitar; and Lauren Rush, cello. 

The set crew includes Tammyi Belanger, Stormy Powell, Dominic Amore and Madeline Goldman. 

Choreographer is Shay Davis. 

Costumes are by Sherry Janowski, Cora Geiken and Cordelia Geiken.

Tickets cost $12. Call the box office at 217-379-7028 to reserve seats. Group rates are available for 10 or more. 

The Market Street Theatre is located at 254 S. Market St., Paxton.
