"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" to be performed at GCMS High

GIBSON CITY — Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School’s chorus department will perform the musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at 7 p.m. Friday, March 6, and Saturday, March 7, in the school’s gym.

Featuring a cast of high school students along with a supporting children’s choir, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is a retelling of the Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors. The musical is set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock ‘n’ roll.

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is presented through license from Rodgers and Hammerstein.  The show’s lyrics are by Tim Rice, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The GCMS production is under the direction of Amanda Broaddus, with choreography by Ann Spangler.

Tickets are on sale for $7 and may be purchased by calling the high school office at 217-784-4292. At the door, general admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for students.
