Tri-County Players to present ‘Once Upon A Mattress’

PAXTON — The Tri-County Players theater group’s production of “Once Upon A Mattress” opens Friday, June 20, at the Market Street Theatre in downtown Paxton.

Additional performances are scheduled for June 21, June 22, June 27, June 28 and June 29. The Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 p.m., and the Sunday matinee starts at 2 p.m. 

There is an admission charge. To reserve a seat, call 379-7028.  Group rates are available for 10 or more.

“Once Upon A Mattress is a family-friendly show that is fun for all ages,” said Tammy Belanger, director of the production. “We hope that Paxton and the surrounding communities will support live theater at the Market Street Theatre. After all, everyone loves a ‘happily ever after’ story! This production will bring back the joy of bedtime stories and bring the audience back to their childhood.”

An eight-piece pit band will provide the show’s music.

The cast is comprised of  Savannha Stevenson (Princess Winnifred), Michael Duling (Prince Dauntless), Markus Janowski (King Sextimus), Kay Glover (Lady Larken), Mitchell Swanson (Sir Harry), Evan Seggebruch (Minstrel), Matthew Harper (Jester), Johanna Kerber (Queen) and Austin McNealy (Wizard).

The ensemble is comprised of Jessica DeBella, Hannah Longest, Dominic Amore, Audrey Bloomquist, Melissa Goldman, Destiny Kellerhals, Stormy Powell and Nora Snyder.

The production team is Tammy Belanger, director; Sherry Janowski, assistant director; Shay Davis, choreographer; Chuck Belanger, musical director; Tom Janowski, lighting designer; and Anne Newman, house manager.
