PAXTON — Shelbie Rottman, an advertising representative for the Paxton Record, was named the winner of the Paxton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Extra Mile Award for January.
The award is presented monthly to business professionals who demonstrate exceptional service. Rottman was nominated by Dawn Overstreet of Hudson Drug & Hallmark Shop in Paxton.
“Shelbie has been designing our ads for the newspaper for the past year and has really gone above and beyond,” Overstreet said in her nomination letter. “She is very creative and puts a lot of time into our ads. She will often come to our store to take pictures of the items. She also writes well-though-out-out text. The ad from the Dec. 7 issue was especially impressive, where she wrote 48 lines of Christmas prose. We appreciate her hard work.”
The Extra Mile Award program awards a $20 gift certificate to the winner and a floral arrangement from the Flower Cart to the nominator.
The chamber’s new Extra Mile Award chairman is Don Rasmus. All nomination letters can be sent to Rasmus at First National Bank, P.O. Box 95, 106 N. Market St., Paxton, IL 60957. People can also send nominations to the chamber office at P.O. Box 75, Paxton, IL 60957.
The 2012 sponsors of the award are Long Creek Timber Framers Inc., Paxton Variety Liquors and Tim’s Lawn Service & Snow Removal.
