Iroquois County Sheriff's Office police blotter (Dec. 7, 2012)

WATSEKA — The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office released the following list of recent activity:

Arrests
— George Delgado, 18, of Onarga, was arrested Dec. 3 for criminal damage to property (under $500).

— Mitchell L. Keitzmann, 37, of Onarga, was arrested Dec. 3 for domestic battery, aggravated assault and bringing contraband (cannabis) into a penal institution.

— Robert F. Bzdyl, 48, of Rankin, was transported from the Hoopeston Police Department to the Iroquois County Jail on Dec. 4. Bzdyl was wanted on an Iroquois County writ of body attachment for failure to appear in court for theft by deception (under $300).

— Cody A. McLaughlin, 24, of Grandview, Ind., was transferred from the Vermilion County Jail to the Iroquois County Jail on Dec. 3. McLaughlin was wanted on an Iroquois County warrant charging him with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

— A 15-year-old female from Ashkum was arrested Dec. 4 for domestic battery after an altercation with a family member.

Traffic accidents
— No injuries were reported and no citations were issued following a single-vehicle accident Dec. 3 in Loda Township. The accident occurred when Kolin D. Vogel, 26, of Cissna Park, was driving west on County Road 200 North and lost control of his vehicle on the wet road surface near County Road 600 East, about four miles east of Loda. The vehicle veered to the left, where it struck a bridge rail, causing more than $1,500 in damage to the vehicle.

— David M. McClain, 15, of Loda, was transported to Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City for treatment of injuries following a single-vehicle accident Dec. 3 in Loda Township. The accident occurred when McClain was driving south on County Road 100 East and lost control of his vehicle on the wet road surface near County Road 100 North, just south of Loda. The vehicle spun out of control and entered a ditch on the east side of the road, where it struck a chunk of concrete before striking a PVC drainage pipe. Damages were estimated at more than $1,500. No citations were issued.

— No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued following a single-vehicle accident east of Watseka in Concord Township. The accident occurred when Fern V. Schroeder, 48, of Iroquois, was driving east on County Road 2150 North and a deer entered the road near County Road 2780 East. Schroeder was unable to avoid striking the deer, which caused more than $1,500 in damage to the vehicle.

— No injuries were reported following an accident involving two school buses Dec. 4 in the parking lot of Iroquois West Upper Elementary School in Thawville. The accident occurred when a 2004 Bluebird bus was attempting to drive around a second Bluebird bus parked in the lot, and made contact with the left-rear corner of the vehicle. Nineteen student passengers were checked for injuries. No citations were issued. Damages were estimated at more than $1,500.
