District 21 Illinois State Police blotter (Jan. 3, 2013)

ASHKUM — District 21 Illinois State Police released the following recent activity:

— Terrance L. Dubose, 34, of Chicago, was arrested for aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked license and speeding during a traffic stop at 4:39 a.m. Jan. 2 on Interstate 57 near Ashkum. A state trooper was on patrol running radar in the center median at milepost 295 when he saw a Chevrolet traveling 96 mph in a posted 65-mph zone. During the subsequent traffic stop, Dubose told the trooper that his license was suspended. The trooper then conducted a driver’s license inquiry on Dubois and learned that his driving privileges were revoked for a previous DUI arrest. Dubose then was asked to perform standard field-sobriety tests, which he failed.

— No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 57 near Danforth at 10:02 a.m. Jan. 1. The accident occurred when a 2003 Kia Sedona driven by Lakessa S. Murphy, 36, of Cedar Hill, Texas, was driving south on the interstate and failed to negotiate a curve in the road near milepost 289. The vehicle drifted onto the left shoulder and struck the center median cables. The vehicle then re-entered the road and became disabled in the left lane. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at more than $1,500. Also in the vehicle were three juvenile passengers and Dante L. Floyd, 38, of Cedar Hill, Texas. All refused medical treatment.
