GIBSON CITY POLICE
GIBSON CITY — The Gibson City Police Department released the following list of persons arrested or ticketed recently:

— Joseph M. Manzella, 38, of Champaign, for failure to signal and driving under the influence of alcohol on Jan. 20.

— Michael E. Mounts Jr., 35, of 316 E. 16th St., Gibson City, for driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt on Jan. 19.

— Shannon Funk, 46, of 317 E. 15th St., Gibson City, for speeding on Jan. 19.

— John E. Lockhart III, 34, of 426 S. Wood St., Gibson City, for an in-state warrant on Jan. 17.

— Dylan R. Painter, 18, of 104 S. Hunt St., Melvin, for squealing or screeching tires on Jan. 17.

— Earl T. Edburg, 21, of 201 N. Franklin St., Sibley, for operating an uninsured vehicle on Jan. 17.

— Alex J. Zoller, 43, of 103 N. West St., Gibson City, for unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon on Jan. 16.

— Anthony L. Hanson, 42, of 103 N. West St., Gibson City, for delivery of a controlled substance, armed violence, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 16.

— Samuel L. Johnson, 18, of 517 N. Lawrence St., Gibson City, for an in-state warrant on Jan. 16.

— Charles H. Wood, 35, of 233 N. Green St., Melvin, for an improper turn on Jan. 14.

FORD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
PAXTON — The Ford County Sheriff’s Office released the following list of activity for the week of Jan. 13-19:

Complaints reported
— On Jan. 13, a theft was reported in rural Gibson City.

— On Jan. 14, criminal damage to property and a burglary to motor vehicle were reported in rural Paxton.

— On Jan. 17, a deputy responded to a residential burglar alarm on Illinois 9.

— On Jan. 17, a deputy responded to a residential burglar alarm in rural Melvin.

— On Jan. 18, a small white dog was found standing in the roadway on County Road 1100 East in Elliott. The dog was in danger of being struck by traffic, so it was taken to the Paxton Vet Clinic until its owner could be located.

— On Jan. 19, a deputy responded to a residential burglar alarm on Illinois 9.

— On Jan. 20, a deputy responded to a commercial burglar alarm in Melvin. The alarm was due to an employee error.

Traffic tickets/civil matters
— During the week, deputies handled three civil matters and issued seven traffic citations.

Traffic accidents
— On Jan. 15, Sneh Hingle of Chesterton, Ind., failed to yield the right-of-way at the stop intersection of County Road 550 North and Illinois 47.  Hingle’s vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by David Hoerner of Chenoa. Hingle was issued a citation for the crash. 

— On Jan. 17, Leah Thorp of Gibson City ran a stop sign on County Road 700 East at 500 North Road, and her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Robert Tipsword of Gibson City. Thorp was issued a citation for the crash. 

Arrests
— On Jan. 13, Joseph Wild of Buckley was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at Holmes Street and Railroad Avenue in Paxton.  He was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol, as was a female passenger.

IROQUOIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
WATSEKA — The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office released the following list of recent activity:

Arrests
— Tabitha D. Breeden, 23, of Loda, was arrested Jan. 13 on a Ford County warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of battery.

— Nathan M. Walwer, 29, turned himself in at the county jail on Jan. 19. Walwer was wanted on an Iroquois County warrant for home invasion.

— Ethan C. Johnson, 23, of Crescent City, was arrested by Gilman police on Jan. 19. Johnson was wanted on an Iroquois County writ of body attachment for failure to appear in court for a traffic offense.

— Jose A. Diaz, 24, of Onarga, was arrested by Onarga police on Jan. 19 on an Iroquois County warrant charging him with three counts of criminal damage to property.

— William E. Jarvis, 20, of Chebanse, was arrested Jan. 14 on an Iroquois County warrant for failure to appear in court for resisting a peace officer.

— Jason D. Blackburn, 31, of Watseka, was arrested Jan. 14 for battery and criminal damage to property.

— Brandon J. Wood, 28, of Beaverville, was arrested Jan. 14 on an Iroquois County warrant for failure to appear in court for battery.

— Dion Chenier, 18, of Onarga, was arrested Jan. 14 for nine counts of aggravated battery following an altercation with staff members at the Onarga Academy.

Traffic accidents
— No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued following a single-vehicle accident near Thawville on Jan. 18. The accident occurred on County Road 1200 North, near 000 East, when Scott A. Dietz, 24, of Gilman, was driving east on 1200 North and his vehicle left the road. The vehicle entered a ditch before striking a culvert. Damages were estimated at more than $1,500.
