Ford County Sheriff's Office police blotter (Feb. 13, 2013)

PAXTON — The Ford County Sheriff’s Office released the following list of activity for the weeks of Jan. 27 through Feb. 9:

Complaints reported
— On Jan. 27, a deputy conducted a welfare check on an elderly person in rural Kempton.

— On Jan. 28, a Roberts resident reported the loss or theft of a license plate sticker.

— On Jan. 29, a deputy assisted with a vehicle stuck in a ditch on Illinois 54 in Roberts.

— On Jan. 29, a deputy responded to a report of all-terrain vehicles trespassing on a rural Paxton property.

— On Feb. 3, a deputy assisted the Gibson Area Ambulance Service with a call in rural Clarence.

— On Feb. 4, a deputy assisted the Paxton Fire Protection District with a house fire in rural Paxton.

— On Feb. 4, a call of shots fired in rural Paxton was reported. The area was checked, but no suspects were located.

— On Feb. 6, a deputy assisted Paxton police with an accident involving a school bus.

Traffic accidents
— On Jan. 27, August Crowley of rural Thawville lost control of his pickup on County Road 500 North at 1775 East.  The truck left the road and ended up in the front yard of a residence. Crowley was issued multiple citations for the crash.

— On Jan. 28, Kaley Brennan of Elliott lost control of her vehicle on an icy road at 725 E. 500 North. The vehicle struck a telephone pole. No injuries were reported.

— On Jan. 28, vehicles driven by Dawn Konas of Loda and Robin Muerer of Roberts were sideswiped by a pickup on U.S. 45 at County Road 100 North.  The accident occurred in dense fog, and the suspect vehicle fled the scene.

— On Feb.1, Miranda Patton of Gibson City failed to yield the right-of-way at the intersection of County Road 200 North and Illinois 54. Her vehicle was struck by a semitrailer driven by Kroum Kroumon of Joliet.

— On Feb.2, Richard Karlock of Paxton lost control of his vehicle on an icy roadway at the intersection of county roads 200 North and 1800 East. The vehicle left the road and struck several road signs.

— On Feb. 2, Thomas Hutchcraft lost control of his vehicle on an icy roadway at 375 E. 550 North Road. The vehicle left the road and stopped in a roadside ditch.

— On Feb. 3, a single-vehicle accident was discovered on Illinois 54 near Ford County Road 1025 East. The driver left the scene but was later located.  Scott Reynolds of Piper City was issued multiple citations for the crash.

— On Feb. 5, Karen Foster of Paxton struck a whitetail deer with her vehicle at 425 N. Ford County Road 1600 East.

— On Feb. 6, Thomas Williams of rural Melvin lost control of his vehicle at 1030 N. Ford County Road 900 East. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a power pole.
— On Feb. 2, Chelsea Hutchcraft of Gibson City was arrested on a McLean County warrant.   

— On Feb. 2, Curtis Arnette of Paxton was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at 250 N. 1900 East Road.  He was also charged with improper lane usage and illegal transportation of alcohol.

— On Feb. 4, Austin Renfrow of Paxton was arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol and a probation violation during an investigation for an unrelated crime in rural Paxton.

— On Feb. 6, Richard Cruse of Ludlow was arrested at 150 N. Ford County Road 2250 East for driving with a suspended license and for a Ford County warrant of arrest.

Traffic tickets/civil matters
— During the two-week period, deputies handled eight  civil matters and issued 14 traffic citations.
