Ford County Sheriff's Office police blotter (Dec. 16, 2013)

PAXTON — The Ford County Sheriff’s Office released the following list of activity for the period of Dec. 8-14:

— On Dec. 14, Jason Irvin of Hoopeston was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop east of Paxton at 2360 E. Illinois 9. 

— On Dec. 14, a rural Foosland man reported being the victim of a telephone scam.

— On Dec. 13, a deputy handled a minor accident on North Pine Street in Piper City involving Gloria Wilson and John Harrell.

— On Dec. 13, a vehicle driven by Ryan Jones of rural Melvin slid into the oncoming lane and was struck by a vehicle driven by Joann Scheurich of Elliott. The accident occurred south of Elliott at 300 N. Ford County Road 1000 East. No injuries were reported.

— On Dec. 13, a deputy assisted Illinois State Police with a stranded motorist on Interstate 57.

— On Dec. 13, a deputy responded to a disturbance in Sibley.

— On Dec. 12, a report of telephone harassment was taken in rural Kempton.

— On Dec. 10, Kurt Kietzman of Gibson City struck a deer with his vehicle west of Paxton at 1400 E. Illinois 9.

— On Dec. 10, a deputy assisted Paxton police with an alarm in Paxton.

— On Dec. 9, a deputy responded to a hang-up 911 call in rural Gibson City. The call was made by a child playing with the phone.

— On Dec. 8, a report of criminal damage to property was taken in rural Paxton.

— During the week, deputies handled four civil matters and issued two citations.
