Sheriff to award $500 college scholarship

PAXTON — Ford County Sheriff Mark Doran will be awarding a $500 scholarship to a student wishing to pursue higher education during the 2013-14 academic year. 

The scholarship is to be applied to tuition, books and fees only. The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning in Illinois.

Applications are available at the sheriff’s office in Paxton or at www.ilsheriff.org. Students must complete the application; answer an essay question and return all documentation to the sheriff’s office by March 15.
