GCMS grads named to ExplorACES steering committee

URBANA — Adam Sommer and Jacob Dickey, both from Gibson City, have been named to the 2014 ExplorACES Steering Committee in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) at the University of Illinois.

Sommer, 20, the son of Cheryl and Todd Sommer, is a junior majoring in agricultural and consumer economics. Sommer is co-director of recruitment for ExplorACES. 

Dickey, 20, the son of Paula and Daniel Dickey, is a junior majoring in agricultural education. Dickey is publicity co-director for ExplorACES.

Both are graduates of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School.

The ExplorACES event will be held March 14-15. It is a student-run open house of the College of ACES featuring exhibits, mini-classes and the opportunity for prospective students to speak with ACES faculty and students.
