Fish, trees, plat books available for purchase from SWCD office

PAXTON — The Ford County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) has fish, trees and platbooks available for purchase.

For fish purchases, the deadline to order grass carp is Sept. 14, and all other fish orders are due Sept. 23. Delivery is at 10 a.m. Sept. 30. Catfish, sunfish, bass crappie, bluegill, redear and minnows of various sizes are for sale. Pond delivery is available on large-quantity orders.

Tree orders are due Oct. 7. Pickup is Oct. 18. Available are a variety of potted shrubs, grasses, potted evergreens, large-potted deciduous trees, fruit trees, groundcover, perennial plants and smaller potted shade trees. Order forms are available at or at the SWCD office located at 1380 W. Ottawa Road in Paxton.

The 2016 platbooks are being sold at the SWCD office for $20 each.

Also available for purchase are marking flags, at a cost of 100 for $12.
