IMH Auxiliary awards scholarships to area students

WATSEKA — The Iroquois Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has awarded $3,000 in Allied Health Scholarships to area students pursuing their higher education in health-related fields. Each of the six winners will receive $500. 

The scholarship winners are:

— Christopher Florido of Watseka, a 2009 Watseka High School graduate who is attending the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

— Marianne Florido of Watseka, a 2012 Watseka High School graduate who is attending the University of Illinois majoring in community health. 

— Patrick Florido of Watseka, a 2009 Watseka High School graduate who is attending the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

— Alexandra Foster of Watseka, a 2010 Watseka High School graduate who is attending Butler University as a pharmacy major. 

— Jessica Hubert of Martinton, a 2009 Donovan High School graduate who is attending Illinois State University majoring in food, nutrition and dietetics.

— Layn Newman of Sheldon, a 2008 Milford High School graduate who is attending Northwestern University, where she is completing her master’s in orthotics and prosthetics. 

Applications for the 2014 IMH Auxiliary Allied Health Scholarships will be available in January.
