Caregiver program offered starting Feb. 22 in Kempton

KEMPTON — The Caregiver Advisory Program at the Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department is offering a free six-week educational program for caregivers, beginning Feb. 22, entitled “Taking Care of You: Powerful Tools for Caregiving.”

The program will be held each Wednesday, from noon to 2:30 p.m., through March 28 at the American Legion Hall, 212 First St., Kempton. Registration is required by Wednesday, Feb. 15, and can be made by calling Jill or Marcia at 815-432-2483.

The program provides caregivers with tools to increase their self-care and their ability and confidence to handle difficult situations, emotions and decisions. The program is intended for those who are caring for a relative or friend, who are raising a grandchild, or who are helping with the care of a parent, spouse or friend who live at home or in a nursing home.
