SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois State Board of Elections says Gov. Pat Quinn has signed Senate Bill 3338, which extends the filing period for candidates for the April 9, 2013, consolidated election.
The last day for candidates to file will be Wednesday, Dec. 26, instead of the original deadline of Dec. 24, which is Christmas Eve.
Candidates are being asked to contact their respective local election official to determine when candidate filings will be accepted at their respective locations.
A candidate’s guide is available on the Illlinois State Board of Elections website, www.elections.state.il.us.
