ROBERTS — The Roberts Village Board learned during its March 6 meeting that Gibson Area Hospital had pledged to match $2,500 in donations for repairs needed at the Roberts Public Library if the group organizing fundraising efforts is able to raise that amount.
Rotting floor joists in the stage area toward the back of the library have prompted the village to keep it closed until the necessary repairs are made. Meanwhile, a committee has organized several fundraisers to try to raise the $5,000 needed.
Also during the meeting:
— Water department employee Paul Theesfield read the monthly water report, which showed 749,500 gallons of water were pumped in the previous month.
— Maintenance department employee David Fuoss said there is an oil leak in the village’s old truck.
— Bid letting will be held in May for repairs to the Roberts Gym’s parking lot, the board learned. A notice will be published regarding the bid letting.
— Ordinance enforcement officer Stan Daro said he was proceeding with calls as necessary.
— The village’s annual cleanup day was set for June 3.
— The annual pavilion dance was set for 8-11 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at the village park.
— The annual Roberts Firemen’s Pancake and Sausage Breakfast was set for 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at the Roberts Gym.
— Trees need to be cut in three locations, and stumps need to be ground at three locations, the board learned.
