Lott Boulevard repairs to get under way soon

GIBSON CITY — The city sent a letter to residents Thursday, notifying them that Iroquois Paving Corp. will make repairs to Lott Boulevard, from 8th to 13th streets, in upcoming weeks.

“The project will entail the removal and replacement of curb and gutter, pavement patching, storm sewers, sidewalk removal and replacement, and HMA resurfacing,” the letter says.

A tentative construction schedule follows:

— April 18 through May 4: Construction layout, storm sewer installation and curb and gutter removal.

— May 5-27: Sidewalk/driveway removal, curb and gutter replacement and driveway replacement.

— May 31 through June 10: Sidewalk replacement and patching.

— June 13-30: HMA resurfacing and roadway striping.

— July 1-11: Punch-list items and project cleanup.

At times during construction, access from the street into driveways may be limited, the letter said. Portions of Lott Boulevard will be closed during the workday but are expected to be opened at the end of the workday.  Exceptions will be for freshly poured concrete that needs time to cure.

“Please inform us if any resident has special needs,” the letter said. “We will make every effort to accommodate the need.”
