Hands of Christ Food Pantry expanding its service area

PAXTON — The Hands of Christ Food Pantry will expand its service territory to all of Ford County and the entire Paxton-Buckley-Loda school district begining Saturday, March 2.

The food pantry, located at 425 W. Orleans St. in Paxton, has been open since December 2011 and is now able to recieve commodities from the Eastern Illinois Food Bank.  

To be eligible to receive food, recipients must have an income of less than 185 percent of the poverty level. Recipients are asked to bring a form of identification with their name and current home address. 

The pantry is open every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. and the second Tuesday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m.
