Record launches new website

The Paxton Record is launching a new and improved website today at www.paxtonrecord.net.

The continually updated site has several new features and is modeled after The News-Gazette’s website, www.news-gazette.com. Some of the new features include a “recent/most read” stories section on the home page, and links to The News-Gazette’s website, other News-Gazette-owned community newspapers and IlliniHQ.com. It also “pulls in” data for news and sports from The News-Gazette site and IlliniHQ.

Eventually, it will also have the capability of providing photo galleries and video footage.

The site will have a “rotator” feature on its home page that highlights the important stories of the week. There are also sections for obituaries, news and sports.

The new site also has more advertising capabilities. It has three medium-sized rectangles for advertising space on its home page.

There is also a classified advertising section.
