CHAMPAIGN – James R. “Jamie” Peyton, 31, of Fargo, N.D., formerly of Champaign, grandson of a Gibson City resident, died at 1:35 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Essentia Health in Fargo.
Celebration-of-life memorial services will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1700 Crescent Drive, Champaign. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Steve Shoemaker will officiate. Heath and Vaughn Funeral Home, 201 N. Elm St., Champaign, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jamie was born on Jan. 3, 1981, in Champaign, a son of Dwayne and Donna (Brown) Peyton.
Surviving are his parents; a brother, Jason Peyton of Minneapolis, Minn.; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Rose Brown of Urbana; and his paternal grandmother, Mildred Ferri of Gibson City.
Jamie was employed in food service. He was a graduate of Champaign Centennial High School. He enjoyed fishing and Illini sports.
