Robert V. Hoyt

MELVIN — Robert V. Hoyt, brother of a Melvin resident, died in High Wycombe Bucks, England, on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012.

Mr. Hoyt was born in Paxton on July 3, 1943, to Robert V. and Norma E. (Bryant) Hoyt. He joined the Air Force after graduating from high school and was soon sent to England to serve. There he met his future wife, Sheila Hickman. They were married in June 1964. When he got out of the Air Force, he remained in England, and there he and Sheila raised their family. He was a quality machinist in a factory that made ejection seats for airplanes. He retired from that plant.

Surviving are his son, Martin (Jackie) Hoyt of Blandford Dorset Forum, England; two grandsons and a granddaughter; two brothers, Richard (Louann) Madison of Joliet and James (Hillary) Bellert of Barrington Hills; and five sisters, Lynn (James) Duke of Melvin, Cheryl Hoyt of Denver, Toni Edwards of Denver, Gina D’Shirico of Seattle, Wash., and Terri Richards of Mansfield , Texas.

He was pre-deceased by his wife; his son, Lee; his parents; and grandparents.

Mr. Hoyt enjoyed pool/snooker, played trivia, and enjoyed his back garden.

Jim and Hillary Bellert and Lynn Duke were able to travel to England for the funeral services and to be with family for a few days.
