ELLIOTT — Terry S. “Beaver” Johnson, 64, of Elliott, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
His funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the American Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibson City, with the Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City.
Mr. Johnson was born May 29, 1947, in Bloomington, a son of Clifford E. and LaVerne A. (Brethorst) Johnson. He married Ellen L. Johnson on May 1, 1976, in Gibson City. She survives in Elliott.
Also surviving are his children, Clint (Heather) Johnson, Amy (Joe) Higgins and Jodi Johnson, all of Gibson City; three grandchildren, Wyatt and Aubrey Higgins and Colton Johnson; two brothers, Douglas (Sue) Johnson of Sibley and Randy (Holly) Johnson of Guthrie; and two sisters, Julie Gerdes of Paxton and Pamela (Tim) Gardner of Gibson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Karen Pettit.
Mr. Johnson enjoyed trapping, fishing and hunting. He worked at M&W Gear Company in Gibson City for 18 years and was a longtime farmer. He enjoyed attending many sporting events.
Memorial tributes may be made to the American Evangelical Lutheran Church or to Gibson Area Hospital.
