PAXTON — Ina M. Peterson, 97, of Paxton, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Normal.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the start of an 11 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the First Lutheran Church in Paxton. The Rev. Jeff Cottingham will officiate. Burial will be in the Glen Cemetery in Paxton. Arrangements are being handled by Knapp-Miller Funeral Home in Paxton.

Mrs. Peterson was born Feb. 15, 1915, in Rankin, a daughter of Kuno Gustav and Edna Manilla Peterson Seidel.  She married Donald C. Peterson on Sept. 10, 1938, in Paxton. He died July 4, 1976.

Surviving are two sons, William (Joyce) Peterson of Bloomington and Robert (Rita) Peterson of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie Storrs and May Litzberg; and one great-grandson, Ellis Joel Beam.

Mrs. Peterson was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Paxton and Ladies Aid, having served as past president.  She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star Prospect Chapter #367 and was also a member of the Paxton Woman’s Club, having served as past local president and past district president.

Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church in Paxton.
