Howard E. "Pee Wee" Sheffield

LINCOLN — Howard E. “Pee Wee” Sheffield, 89, of Lincoln, uncle of residents of Gibson City and Rankin, died at 10:51 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brent Zastrow officiating. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.

Mr. Sheffield was born April 24, 1929, in Hoopeston, the son of Herbert E. and Ida F. (Bell) Sheffield.

Surviving are nine nieces and nephews, Mary (Charles) Vandevender of Dana, Ind., Doris Butt of Granite City, Elaine Ramsey of Estancia, N.M., Nancy Anderson of Milford, Stephen (Linda) Ingold of Goodland, Ind., Herbert Ingold of Chatsworth, Margaret (Dwayne) Knollenberg of Lincoln, Richard Ingold of Gibson City and John (Michelle) Ingold of Rankin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, four brothers, two nieces, two nephews, one great-niece, three great-nephews and one great-great-niece.

Mr. Sheffield worked for Douglas Aircraft in California for 10 years. He later worked at Plibrico in Chicago as an accountant until his retirement in 1991. He was an avid amateur photographer and was a member of the Photographic Society of America, the Green Briar Camera Club of Chicago and the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association.
